The 102nd anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, was marked in Bucharest

On the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Nation of the Azerbaijan, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Romania organized a commemorative event in front of the bust of the leader, located in Tei Park in Bucharest. Wreaths and flowers were laid at the monument and the memory of the great statesman was honored with respect.

The event began with a moment of silence in memory of the National Leader. Afterwards, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania, Gudsi Osmanov, opened the ceremony with a speech, in which he evoked the life and work of Heydar Aliyev. He emphasized the impact of the internal and external policies conducted with wisdom and state experience by the leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan, underlining his essential contributions to the development and affirmation of the country. The Ambassador also noted that Heydar Aliyev's political line is successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

The ceremony was addressed by Dan Iancu, Director of the General Directorate for the Eastern Neighborhood of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Senator Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Tâgârârlaș, Chairman of the Romanian Senate's Committee for Culture and Media, His Excellency Özgür Kıvanç Altan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Romania, His Excellency Victor Chirilă, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Romania, and other guests. They eulogized the life and work of the internationally renowned political leader Heydar Aliyev, underlining his dedication to the people of the Republic of Azerbaijan and his remarkable contribution to the strengthening of relations between Azerbaijan and Romania.

A photo exhibition dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev was also organized during the event.

The event was attended by representatives of the Turkish Embassy in Romania, SOCAR Petroleum SA, the Yunus Emre Institute in Bucharest, the Turkish Businessmen's Association (TIAD), members of the Friends of Azerbaijan in Romania, as well as citizens and students from the Republic of Azerbaijan living in Romania.
